Probably one of the fastest growing festivals over the last 5 years or so, from it’s early days as Caukaus to now one of the most talked about small festivals in the this part of the world. Expect fun and frolics, piggyback races and waterslides amongst an array of tents covering most genres. Look out for ‘Fish Seeks Bicycle’ for a swinging tomfoolery type of day, nice.

The Secret Garden Party began in 2004 with 1000 people attending. We had one hand-built stage, two small bars, a naked stage manager and the organisers could be found swimming in the lake at dawn.

In 2005 the word had spread and 3000 people turned up, the same relaxed atmosphere remained. There was a feeling that you could do anything that you wanted; and people did. Dressed as Dictators people threw themselves over and into 6ft high pianos in the Suicide Olympics, at 10am Monday the wild times were still rolling.

In 2006 the festival swelled to 6000, something we had never expected. Everyone had an incredible time, but we were not quite prepared for how widely we had become known. In September 2006 the Head Gardener and Team participated at Burning Man in the Nevada Desert. We took off our clothes, painted ourselves blue and decided to begin a new phase of the Secret Garden Party.

Brave New Worlds was created. We introduced the Action Camps & Events, The Avant Garden and established the annual Expression Theme designed to encourage vision and participation. The Garden will never be the same again.

As 2007 was a revolution for the SGP, we felt it was appropriate to use 2008 to explore the dramatic transformations of Past, Present and Future, the great happenings that have created the world we inhabit today.

The Expression Theme became Come The Revolutions. As an individual at the Secret Garden Party you have that rare opportunity to be and do anything you desire. Few people, few places and even fewer countries have this powerful freedom.

womad image 1.jpgWith acts from all over the globe you really are spoilt for choice to listen and set your eyes on. A Highlight  from last years festival was Babylon Circus the self-proclaimed "French gypsy dancehall punksters". There is loads of fun to be had for children of all ages. This is one of the most diverse and best run festivals for sure, you will never get bored or grumpy (even on the worst of heads), I promise.

Festival director Chris Smith 'Whether you are looking for the excitement of the main stage experience or keen to discover something new, WOMAD 2009 has some of the very best and most exciting music from around the world. This is going to be one great festival"

The WOMAD Festival experience is not about the familiar, the tried and tested; its essence is in the discovery and enjoyment of a totally unexpected artist or a style of music which would never otherwise have been encountered. It's a magical, musical melting pot, enriching all who experience it.

This will be the 4th Bloom Festival and we are so excited about what we have lined up this summer we can barely keep our hats on. Pull up a deck chair, drink a cocktail and have a look around our website - you never know, we might just be dancing together outside in the sunshine in a couple of months time!

Small, diverse and lively festival, famous for its warm atmosphere and unexpected suprises!

shambala image 1.jpgThe festival has five stages: main stage, lakeside stage (powered by the sun, or by a back-up bio-diesel generator), and big top, plus a roller disco, karaoke, contemporary circus performances (tightrope walking, stunning swinging trapeze, pole dancing), and loads more.

Kids will never be bored also with things like trampolines, inflatables, music workshops, circus skills, art tent with full programme each day, play equipment and swing-boats, festival newspaper team, puppet shows, cinema, co-operative games, a kitchen academy, DJing, magic, and even a bedtime story tent. Many activities will have themes around cultural awareness, and the environment.

Shambala began in 1999, with 150 people in a field with a farmer's trailor covered in tarps for a stage, and one porterloo! Having hijacked a sound system from a students union, we revelled for a weekend with good music, cream teas and general sillyness. Such a good time was had,  that the next year a few more folk came, and each year since people have got involved or wanted to come!

shambala image 2.jpgWe see Shambala as a creative, non-commercial, ethical and family-friendly festival with a wild side. We have endeavoured to cultivate  a down-to-earth mix of creativity, the unexpected, a warm & friendly atmosphere, and quality entertainment. We feel striongly about partcipation rather than just consuming, and offer plenty of stuff to get involved with, cinemas,  many workshops (dance, spritual, craft, loads of kids activities, circus performance, talks, sauna, cafes, massive site art, a lovely crowd and a lot of suprises!

The festival is completely independent from advertising and sponsorship! Having never promoted it, Shambala has grown through word of mouth.

New for 2009, the Shambala Spa can be found in the never-seen lakeside meadow. Discover healers of all types, sauna, hot-tubs, plunge-pool, tea & cake at the Yellow Earth cafe, and more

We hope you like our small but truly fanastic list of festivals...
